Welcoming new client Sally Horsley to Elan Life PT 👏👏👏👏
At 62 years old she already looks amazing 🤩 I’ve known this beautiful woman since our kids were little and she has always taken great care of herself with daily exercise and good nutrition. But now she’s looking to delve in a bit deeper and wanting to understand proper technique and form with lifting and she just basically wants me to kick her butt 🤣….. and of course I am happy to oblige 🤪 I shall also be assisting with helping Sally understand nutrition and macros better too. One week in and she’s already killing it ! 💪🏻

51 years old today and feeling fantastic!
Consistency with strength training and clean nutrition pays off, you have to be in it for the long haul, there are no quick fixes, it needs to be part of your lifestyle.
Ladies if you have not yet started lifting then you are doing yourself an injustice! I cannot stress enough the importance of lifting especially as we get older and come into Peri / Menopause.

Lazy Sunday morning breakfast
Turmeric Oats 😋
Today I just needed something other than my usual eggs.
Ingredients:
OATS – slow release energy, various vitamins and minerals and high in fibre.
UNSWEETENED ALMOND MILK – low in cals, good source of Vitamin E, low in saturated fats and cholesterol.
BANANA PROTEIN POWDER – for extra protein and sweetness
TURMERIC – for its anti-inflammatory properties, relieve joint pain, boosts mood and immunity.
CHIA SEEDS – packed with fibre, antioxidants and omega- 3 fatty acids.
SPICES – I don’t know about you but I always need a bit of spice in my life 🤪…. Cardamom and cinnamon gives this dish an amazing flavour.
BLUEBERRIES – rich in antioxidant, fibre and vitamins.
PEANUT BUTTER – coz peanut butter is life ! 🤣 I could literally eat it straight out the jar …….. but I don’t !!! 🤣 very high in cals so just 20grams will do. Discipline with peanut butter is what I struggle with the most 😂
I like to eat with intention, consuming foods that are going to fuel my body and give it what it needs to function well. Being in my fifties eating well takes priority for general well being and to be able to maintain a healthy stable weight. I want to be able to move well as I age so I can live an independent life without the need for medication or assistance. 💪🏻 Obviously balance that with foods you crave in moderation 😉 pizza and wine is fine on occasions.

Client Slaying
A BIG shoutout to my beautiful client Miss Charlotte Markham who has lost an impressive 11 kilo’s and 85cm’s off her her overall measurements since she started training 🥳…… all due to her hard work even when she accidentally tripped and fell into a few bars and restaurants and the cocktails and pizza’s again accidentally fell into her mouth 😂…… she still managed to stay on track and work towards her goals 😂 balance right there!

Rice Bubbles yogurt slice
A healthy quick alternative to all those unhealthy sugar filled bars you find in the stores.
Ingredients:
Rice Bubble’s
Low fat Greek Yoghurt
Peanut butter
Honey/ Maple syrup or sweetener of choice
A scoop of vanilla or chocolate protein powder
Shredded coconut
Chuck everything in a bowl ( adjust amounts to suit , I’m a throw everything in the bowl kinda gal 😂) mix, spread out onto a lined baking tray and drizzle with chocolate, freeze and slice and voila! You have just made a guilt free snack perfect for pre / post workouts, put in kids lunch boxes or have as a late arvo snack 😃
